Information:
The Girls' Brigade in the UK is 120 years old this year and they have challenged the Girls' Brigade companies across the length and breadth of the country to find an appropriate way to mark this anniversary that reflects the aims of the organisation. Ashford's GB company has about 60 members and meets at Ashford Baptist Church every Tuesday in term time.
1st Ashford GB company are marking this special anniversary on Saturday 8th June with a display of photographs from several decades, a thanksgiving service at 3 p.m. in which each age group will present an item depicting what Girls' Brigade means to them followed by a tea.
The girls and their leaders are hoping to track down as many girls and staff members from the past to come and join in with this celebration. If you used to attend Ashford's Girls' Brigade company you are warmly invited to come and join in. It should prove to be a good opportunity to rediscover old friends, reminisce over shared memories and discover how GB is moving with the times to be relevant to the girls of today.
