News | Help police trace thief targeting Ashford charity boxes

Kent Police officers investigating the theft of charity boxes in the high street have released a CCTV image.

The first burglary took place at Timpson between 6pm on Thursday 25th and 7.30am on Friday 26th May where a charity collection box containing cash has been reported stolen.

Officers are linking this burglary to the theft of another charity collection box from Premier Cellar on Tuesday 30th May between 2pm and 2.10pm and a burglary at The Chilli Bite on Saturday 3rd June at around 5.15am where another box was taken.

Investigating officer Sergeant Jasmine Bloomfield said: ‘We are linking these incidents and carrying out a number of enquiries to identify the man in the image who might be able to help us with information. Anyone who saw anything suspicious or who recognises the man in the picture can call us on 01843 222289 quoting reference ZY/22101/17 or call Kent Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.'
