News | Help fundraise for Intensive Care Unit garden
Date Posted: 22nd September 2018
The Intensive Care Unit at the William Harvey Hospital is fundraising for a new garden and needs your help.
The unit cares for critically ill patients who can sometimes spend months on the unit without ever seeing daylight, let alone feeling the sun on their skin. So when taking a patient outside for the first time in months it can be overwhelming for the patients, relatives and staff to see their faces light up as well as aiding in their rehabilitation, reducing delirium and PTSD.
With your help they will be able to finish their garden to enable patients to have a beautiful environment to go and enjoy the natural sunlight and share experiences in the tranquility of nature.
